In this featured post, we are showcasing sandblast etched gifts by Vicki of JR Laser Solutions. Vicki personalizes just about everything, including liquor bottles, tumblers, glassware & concrete pavers. The latest project is an interesting idea of a pie plate as shown in the photo. Check it out!
As stated, Vicki does both laser etching and sandblasting and provided the below details:
I’ve cut stencils on the vinyl cutter for bricks, pavers & granite and utilize the laser for stencils when I have laser friendly materials. When I can, I sandblast rather than use the laser for “blasting” as the finish is a much nicer hand-feel. I sandblast a lot of concrete pavers, s/s tumblers & glassware, liquor bottles as well as powder coated & anodized items.
I am in the process of sandblasting pie plates for a “Math bridal” pie party gifts
These are sandblasted on the underside of the pie plate. I just never know were a project may come from.
Below are other interesting items that they sandblast etch; which will give you some ideas:
I really liked this gift idea by etching Woodford Reserve bottles or any type of liquor. We talked a bit about this in Jennifer’s whiskey etched bottle post.
From left to right, it shows a flat piece of glass in a tropical environment, a tumbler personalized gift and an ornament sandblast etched.
Another idea we haven’t talked about too much is customizing anonized metal mugs. (Though I made a quick post about sandblasting metal here.) Those stainless steel tumblers are very popular now so this might be a great market to get into.
And lastly, you can always sandblast items like bricks. We will be talking more about this in the future.
I hope you enjoyed this post and you can thank Vicki for sharing! Please leave some comment love or questions below.
