Our latest featured etching is from Rex Linder. This is a cool idea to etch a gift for card or poker players.
He double etched the cards showing 4-of-a-Kind of Aces. You can look closely at how the cards overlap. To create a contrast of the layered cards, it looks like he might have added the edge of the card for his stencil design. Then etched the edge lightly for a different depth. This can sometimes be called two stage carving.
He shared the below details:
I made this for a mate that spends his free time playing cards. Double etched beer tankard with four aces, The edge of the cards were quite difficult. I used a lower pressure to prevent any break out of the edges

Nice job. Looks like you used a 70 grit blast media. Is that correct?
