Recently, one of my buddies decided to decorate his basement with a MLB Cincinnati Reds theme, so he asked me to etch the bar mirror and a bunch of beer mugs with the logo.
He was asking about which way to etch, because you can etch the black areas of the original logo or do a reverse etching. By the way, this can all be done easily with free solutions in the ebook (www.glassetchingsecrets.com/info.html). Basically, you can etch the white areas or the black areas if you’re just doing a one stage etching.
So, I offered to show him an example of what each would look like. The one below is an etching on the original black areas of the logo.
In contrast, the photo below is an etching of the reverse logo with the white areas of the logo. I think this one looks much better, don’t you?

Hello! This is such a cool concept. Do you do etching for other people? If so, I’d be very interested in having this Reds design etched onto a piece of 23.75″x 16.25″ glass, which will then be placed into a serving tray of that size (tray is slightly larger.) Let me know if this is something you do, and if so how much it would cost me. Thanks!

Thanks Judy! I usually just do it for friends and family. It would be illegal to sell it without a license, but I doubt they would mind small low scale projects.
